I’m all Ears

Published January 30, 2020 by mn1055

One of the most iconic products at a Disney park are the Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears. They come in forms of headbands and hats. They are so popular (and expensive) that many people make their own to wear and sell online.

I get a new pair of ears each time I go to Disney World. I even have a list of ears that I want to get. As more designs are released the longer my list grows! Currently I have 5 pairs of ears.

The Disney parks often release “color schemes.” These color schemes consist of clothing, backpacks, and EARS! This fall a new color scheme was announced; Arendelle Aqua. Arendelle is the town which the movie Frozen is based. These ears were on my list immediately.

When I went to Disney World in November, I was in a predicament. The holiday ears had hit the shelves and this was my first time seeing Disney World decorated for Christmas. I could have bought the Arendelle Aqua ears but I thought that the holiday ears were more memorable.

I made a mistake. When I returned in January to buy my Arendelle Aqua ears they were sold out!!! This happened a few years ago when they released the Rose Gold color scheme. Once the color scheme is sold out, Disney waits a few years until they sell them regularly on the shelves.

I will just have to wait a few years until I have my Arendelle Aqua ears!

Pete’s Dragon (the remake)

Published January 25, 2020 by mn1055

I watched Pete’s Dragon on Friday night. Since Disney+ has been released I have been trying to watch movies that I have never seen.

I had not realized that the original Pete’s Dragon was released in 1977. The remake was….interesting. It starts like most Disney movies. A traumatic event leaves the main character to grow up faster than a normal child their age. This character, Pete, meets a giant green dragon who he names Elliot.

I had one concern with this dragon. Typically a dragon is imagined with scales. Not Elliot. He is covered with green fuzzy that slightly resembles a tennis ball.

Although Elliot looks sweet and cuddly, he has some major anger issues. Pete knows how to calm Elliot down as they have spent the last 6 years together.

Without giving the movie away, I will say the plot is like most Disney movies. Filled with drama, emotions, and traumatic events that are quite far-fetched. I am glad I watched Pete’s Dragon. I would like to watch the original Pete’s Dragon so I can compare the two. I wouldn’t be upset if I never say the remake again.

Hello world!

The topic of my blog is all things Disney. I love everything about Disney and feel like I can talk about it pretty easily. As a college student, it has been difficult to fulfill all my Disney wants. I would like to travel to Disney World more often than just once a year. For now I will just discuss attractions, movies, and products.
